Autumn! Oh how I have missed you dearly. The perfect time to wear a light jacket and those boots you have been looking forward to wearing throughout the whole of summer. Those long fresh morning walks in the morning with the smell of leaves and the sound of snapping twigs while the dog runs off ahead. 

We have also got to that time of year when its okay to light the fire and sit in front of it with fluffy socks on, a tartan blanket wrapped around your shoulders with a cup of hot chocolate, whipped cream and little baby marshmallows on top. The moment is even better knowing you have nothing to do that day and its really drizzly and rainy outside. 

The colours are gorgeous, how they all blend together and of course not forgetting the second most popular holiday, the one that everyone fears, Halloween. The build up to the end of the month picking your costume, and making sure you have the best one out of all your friends. Then the night comes and you know you get to stay up past your curfew. Watching from your window the excitement of the little children as they run to their neighbours doors, yelling at the top of their lungs TRICK OR TREAT! The smiles of their faces when they have to make the biggest decision of the night... which sweetie is the biggest? 

I love you autumn, with your pretty trees, fresh crisp air and beautiful fashion!

For the last two weeks now i have been looking after two adorable dogs, a shihs tzu named Benji who is 8 years old and a 10 month old Old English sheepdog named Alfie. As some of you may know i have a keen interest in animals, im hoping when leaving college I will start a business of dog sitting and these two dogs were my first proper clients. 

Benji is very old and he is laid back and doesn't care what you do or what he is doing. However Alfie is very mischievous and you will more than likely find half your walldrobe, a couple of empty plastic bottles and the odd shoes or two in the garden where he has ran and tried to hide it. he is also very big for a puppy and a lot stronger than you expect, I found this out when taking him for a walk for the first time and he pretty much dragged me to the park and back again. I've decided to start a new little segment on my blog talking about looking after animals, now as some of you may know I am a animal management student meaning I have to know the basics on looking after common pets. So I thought I would share my knowledge for new animal owners. 

I'm going to start off with hamsters. Hamsters are perfect as a first pet as they are very simple to handle and take care of. For new hamster owners I would recommend a Syrian Hamster as they are a lot bigger than a Chinese Dwarf and a lot easier to tame. A Syrian hamster needs an enclosure that is 15 x 10 inch minimum and  that is roughly 3 - 5 centimetres deep to allow them to burrow. It is up to you what enclosure you get. For Gus, my hamster, I have a wired cage and he is perfectly happy in it. 

For bedding, anything paper based will be perfectly suitable as well as toilet roll. My Gus loves toilet roll, he will happily sit there a shred a whole roll if he could. Moving on to entertainment, my favourite subject, you can get tones of toys and enrichment for hamsters. The most common of course is the ball and the wheel for them to run. all hamsters are different, some are runners, others are chewers and some like to burrow.

For chewers I would recommend edible tunnels and chewing wood that you can cheaply get from your local pet shop. I would also recommend chewable fruit bars that attach on to the hamsters cage These are brilliant for their teeth as well as packed with good vitamins for your hamster. 

For burrowers, i would recommend a lot more bedding than you would usually put in as well as burrowing pits that you can also get from pet shops. You never know what personality your hamster will have so covering all these bases at the beginning will be beneficial. 

For my hamster, he has a chewable chain that hangs from the top of his cage as well as a wheel and  little extra bedding in one corner so he can burrow if he wants to. 

Lastly feeding your hamster. Hamsters need 10g daily of food that's roughly 1 tablespoon. This can be any suitable hamster food that you can purchase at your local pet store. When giving your hamster fresh food there is a couple of foods your hamster is not allowed, these foods are chocolate, garlic, any citrus foods as well as onion. However if you unsure then just simply Google it.

Ive just got back from one of the most relaxing holiday I have been on. Me and my family took a 4 hours flight to Altinkum Turkey for a week, we have never been Turkey before and my god is it hot there, I believe that the lowest temperature I saw was 38 degrees.

During our time there we spent most of the day laying in the sun by the pool. however the times we did adventure out was usually to go shopping down the town strip or in the little evening markets. The little markets were adorable and all the locals were so friendly. They had a variety of different fruit and vegetable that i have never seen before. Also id like to talk about the size of their watermelons; they are HUGE! 

As we went with Thompson we were about to book a couple of  excursions. My Dad and brother travelled for about 2 hours to go to one of the biggest water parks in Turkey, Aqua Fantasy. This water park sounded and looked amazing and they have everything you need on sight from food and drink to just relaxing in the quiet zone. They would highly recommend this water park for anyone that is a water park fanatic.

As for me and my mum we went down the peaceful path and have a Turkish bath. I would highly recommend this experience at the beginning of your holiday as i have definitely kept my tan for longer than i normally would. Now i will admit, when turning up at the location the place looks very seedy and you honestly believe you stepped in to a scene out of Taken but looking past all of the the people are very friendly and will make you feel comfortable instantly. I also recommend taking a camera with you as some of the pictures you will get there are hilarious.

On our last day we decided to do a family cruise. We were told that this cruise will dock meaning we will be able to see more of Altinkum however we did dock but in the middle of the ocean so people were able to jump in. This was brilliant for a couple of hours but being on the boat all day was eventually very boring.

Overall the holiday was brilliant! It was great that everyone was together and no one was distracted by work or blogging or anything like that and we were able to spend time together as a family. I would highly recommend visiting Altinkum and is it a beautiful place and has some very lovely locals.

I am going on holiday very very soon and im so excited. I love ready and watching people talk about what they are taking on holiday and what is going in to their carry on bags so I thought I would do exactly the same. 

1 - Tan Stitch Trim Backpack

I fell in love with this bag as soon as I saw it. It has four pockets on the outside and then inside is very roomy with a mobile phone pocket and a small zipped up pocket. I paid unfortunately £24.99 for the bag when it went in to the sale, the bag is now £9.00 and im honestly really angry that I paid an extra £15.99 however it is still a gorgeous bag. 

2 - iPad, iPhone and Headphones

I'm taking my iPad and my phone for entertainment purpose. I have downloaded loads of movies and TV series on my iPad as i love sunbathing but I get very bored very quickly plus I can also watch them on the plane. Which is where the headphones come in as its not fair on the other passengers for them to hear Don't Tell The Bride playing out loud. 

3. Moisturiser, Lip Balm and Hand Sanitiser

Due to the air pressure of the plane my skin can get seriously dry and just feel disgusting in general. I use the simple moisturiser as I have sensitive skin and every other moisturiser I have tried brakes me out in a lot of spots. the hand sanitiser is to just keep my hand clean.

4. Sunglasses

I have always forgotten to pack my sunglasses in my carry on and end up packing them in my main luggage bag and have the dramatic change in lighting when getting of the plain. these sunglasses were in my OTTD post if you want to know more about them.

5. Selfie Stick

I'm mainly bringing my selfie stick for family photos as its nice to get everyone's faces and the background in the pictures instead of everyone trampling on each other to get in the frame. I also want to bring my selfie stick for the beach as I am not bringing a waterproof camera with me so I will able to take photos when standing in the water and my phone is far away from the sea. 

That's about it, i know its not a lot but its what keeps me entertained. I will be writing up a blog post of my trip to gorgeous Turkey so you have that to look forward to. Thank you for reading.

I decided to write a little update post today because today has been a very sad day for my family. We unfortunately lost our beloved dog, Prince. He was my bestfriend, I met him when he was first brought into our family, he was my first ever pet. He had a peaceful pass, he had all of his family around him but was still in a lot of pain and we have decided that it was old age as he was 13 and boxer breeds only live to the age of 8. 

Prince was a gorgeous dog, a lot bigger than your average boxer, but full of love to give. He would wipe drool on everyone after he had, had a drink or went for a walk. Ill miss telling him off for sunbathing outside because he will end up sunburnt. Coming home will be the worst as he was the first one to greet you, or he will be sitting on the highest step just so he could see you pull up on the drive through the window. I will apologise for dressing him in ridiculous outfits for Halloween or for any occasion to be honest. Lastly I will miss the moments when I am upset in my room and you climb on my bed and lay down. 

I didn't mean for this to be a sad blog post. I wanted to take something from this moment. I prepared a lot for the passing of Prince. I knew that one day he would pass and I will come home to a lonely house. But from this experience I have realised that you can prepare as much as you like, but when it comes to the inevitable, it hurts and it destroys you. You realise that all your preparation for that moment was useless because nothing exceeds to the actually moment itself.  

I wouldn't change anything about this whole experience other than to take more pictures of him when he was alive. Take pictures of the simple thing  he did because when they are gone they are the ones you remember the most. 

This is a message to my older self. Take more pictures of everything, even if you think its excessive at the time, you will look back on those pictures years after and be so thankful that you took them. However please remember to live your life and don't spend it constantly behind the camera screen. Life is to short to miss out on stuff, sometimes a memory in your head is more precious than a photo on a SD card.
